I was born in Kenosha, WI in 1974. My family and I moved to New Johnsonville, TN in 1985. I am a 1993 graduate of Waverly Central High School in Waverly, TN. At Waverly Central High I played football for 4 years (we played MCHS 2 times and got smashed both times) and baseball my Junior year.
After high school I joined the US Army where I served 3 years as a Stinger Missile Gunner and Crew chief. I also cross trained on the Avenger weapon system, which is the upgrade of the Stinger Missile System.
After getting out of the Army, I went to work at the Turney Center Industrial Prison and Farm from 1996-1998 where I worked as a Corrections Officer. I worked in housing units, guard towers, mobile patrol and the High Security Annex to name a few.
In 2000 I went to work for the Humphrey's County Sheriff's Department as a Jailer and Dispatcher.
On November 17, 2000 I graduated from the Police Academy at Walters' State Community College in Greeneville, Tn.
After the Police Academy, I have worked for New Johnsonville PD (2 years), Humphreys County SD (1 year), McEwen PD (2 years), Benton County SD (7 1/2 years) and Marshall Co SO (1 1/2 years). I served as a Patrol Officer/Deputy, CRT (SWAT) Team, Meth Lab Tech/Site Safety Officer and School Resource Officer to name a few positions.
I became the Criminal Justice Teacher at MCHS in the 2014-2015 school year.
I graduated from Bethel University with a Bachelors in Criminal Justice in 2012 and have 9 hours toward my masters. I am currently enrolled in 18 hours of continuing education through UT Martin to obtain my professional teaching license.
